Thank you God for Pizza!

Last night was an eventful night during family devotionals... imagine if you will:

1. One child running around full speed with interludes of bed jumping.

2. One child having a complete meltdown complete with crocodile tears.

3. One child ready for us to wrap it up so he can have some movie time with Dad.

Then prayer time happened... hands held and our family circle was formed.

Joshua began praying... he prayed for each person individually in the circle.  Then our Crocodile Tears gal dried up her tears and prayed with a mixture of Amharic and English... we understood some mutterings of "thank you for Mommy, Daddy and I love Mommy and Daddy".  Finally our bed jumper finished up our time talking to God.  We could just discern some of her Amhaglish mutterings.  The final statement (after about 6 minutes of her prayer time) was completely understandable, "Than tu Dod for PIZZZZZAAAA!"

I love in the middle of chaotic moments in our home that prayer does 2 things:
  1. Shows them Who we thank, Who we love and Who we worship.
  2. Calms their little hearts.
By the time Daddy was done praying... our bed jumper was calmly sitting with her hand in mine and the Crocodile Tears were all dried up!

No matter the age of children... prayer time and Bible time are always possible.  The age of child depends on the active adventure that might happen!

We love our prayer times too. The prayers of little ones are so ADORABLE!
