One thing is a little strange in not knowing how to respond:
We get weekly health updates for our children. So far in the last several weeks, we have learned our son had a bad cold, our youngest daughter had double ear infections and a urinary tract infection... and today, our oldest daughter has bronchitis.
Our agency is amazing... simply amazing. We really do love them dearly and are so thankful our children have caring Nannies, loving Nurses and a wonderful Pediatrician we were able to meet with while in Ethiopia.
I love the updates and my head completely knows our children are being cared for in an amazing way.
However, when I get these updates.. I'm just not sure how I am supposed to respond. I KNOW they are being cared for in a beautiful way. Yet, my heart just wants to be there with them, snuggle them close, give them some crackers, ginger ale, chicken noodle soup (or some other kind of food that is magically supposed to get rid of their ailments) and tell them they will feel better so soon.
I'm realizing, it's hard to be away from your children when they are sick... even when you trust the beautiful folks who are caring for them.
So, in the meantime... I will parent from afar and pray to our Heavenly Father and ask him to allow our sweet little Ruth to feel better so soon.
